Bernard W. "Bill" Fowler Jr., 49, of Slater, died Monday, May 1, 2006, at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Slater. Father Michael Penn will officiate. Pallbearers will be Todd Fowler, Robert Fowler, Wayne Anderson, Corey Perrin, Brandon Palmer and John Best. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.Born June 24, 1956, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Bernard W. Fowler Sr. and Marcella Stratman Fowler. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He operated Slater Service Center in Slater for over 20 years and had also worked as a brakeman with the Illinois Central and Gulf Railroad.Survivors include two sons, Todd Fowler and Robert Fowler, both of Slater; and several aunts and uncles.
