Merry Ellen Cooper Dice, 79, of Harman, WV went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:15 a.m. at Mon General Hospital in Morgantown, WV.

She was born on Monday December 23, 1935 in Elkins, WV.

She was the youngest and the last surviving member of the late Floyd Mason Cooper and Effie Mae Armstrong Cooper.

Four older brothers and two elder sisters preceded her in death who were: Morris Jim, Worth Jack, Eldon Foch, Harry Armstrong Cooper, and Freda Susan Cooper Yokum and Yvonne Estelle Cooper Webster.

She resided in the family home place near Harman, WV which her father helped build in 1942.

She was married to the late Guy Dice of Riverton for 43 years, who passed away July 20, 1994.

She is survived by one loving and devoted daughter and son-in-law, Merry Lou and Rex Guy Vance who also reside in Harman, WV.

She is also survived by three adored grandchildren: Rex Jay Guy and wife Megan Vance of Staunton, Va.

Jeremy Kirk and wife Alicia Vance of Harman, WV.

Merry Jo Ellen Vance who resides in Salem, Va.

Two great grandchildren: Bronson Guy Vance and Ronin Cash Vance of Staunton, Va.

Three dear nephews: Harry Jr., Terry Wade, and Jimmy Dean Cooper and several other nieces and nephews.

Special cousins Woody and Debbie Rush of Baltimore MD.

Mrs. Dice was an active member of the Harman Church of the Brethren all of her life.

She served as a Sunday school teacher, secretary, clerk, custodian, and was a member of many different committees.

She enjoyed her years of being a delegate to Annual Conferences, allowing her to travel and see different parts of the United States.

She loved singing, playing guitar and the piano.

She was also well known for her baking and cooking abilities.

She contributed to many local fund raisers by providing her pies, breads, and cakes.

Her pies were typically sold before she could remove them from her vehicle.

She also helped prepare many meals at the Harman Church of the Brethren for banquets and funerals.

She was employed by Reidboard for 13 years and Canaan Valley State Park for another 13 years.

She was an in home caregiver to several local area residents and served in the Randolph County Foster Grandparent Program for several years.

Mrs. Dice was a member of the VFW organization and Women’s Club in Harman, WV.

She was an active member in the CBWF serving as President and Vice-President.

Mrs. Dice was a four-time major cancer survivor.

She placed all of her health concerns in the hands of God and gave Him the praise and glory for bringing her through each trial.

She maintained a positive outlook on life, kept smiling, and loved life regardless of the situation.

Friends will be received Monday, March 30, 2015 from 4-8 PM at the Harman Church of the Brethren.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Harman Church of the Brethren with Pastor John Moyers.

Interment will follow in Cooper Cemetery.
