Joseph McCool
1841 – 1915
and
Rebecca M. Abrams
1843 – 1869
Minnie was married four times:
on January 17, 1884 to
Benjamin Small
1861-?
(I cannot find Benjamin's death, but he was the son of Benjamin F Small and M.A. Lankford)
on October 17, 1886 to
William Erwin
1861 – 1893
(I believe that William left Minnie a widow with no children.)
on December 20, 1893 to
John A. Marts
1857 – 1930
(The family "lore" says that Minnie divorced John Marts, and this appears to be the case based on genealogical evidence accumulated).
She and John Marts only had one child that has been found through genealogical evidence:
Elizabeth Marts
1894 – 1926
Minnie's fourth husband was Peter Forler.
Peter William Forler was the third son of Balser Forler and Francisca Yeager. He was born in 1859 in Spencer County, Indiana. His first marriage was to Ameline Caroline Metzer on April 17, 1883. This union produced the following children:
William Forler
1884 – 1953
John FORLER
1886 – 1890
Andrew Forler
1888 – 1964
ERNEST VITES FORLER
1889 – 1979
Albert B Forler
1892 – 1975
Upon Ameline Caroline Metzer Forler's death on March 27, 1896, Peter needed a mother for his large family. Although Catholic, he married a divorced woman named Minnie McCool Marts (McCool is her maiden name) in Warrick County, Indiana, on September 15, 1897. This union produced the following children:
Charlie Forler
1898 – 1916
Corrine M. Forler
1901 – 1975
Frank R. Forler
1902 – 1992
Fred J Forler
1905 – 1964
Edward Forler
1907 – 1966
Daniel R. Forler
1910 – 1993
Minnie served as a mother for the older children, while also bringing her daughter, Elizabeth Marts, to live with them as well.
Peter and Minnie continued farming in Knox and Warrick County. They lived in Vincennes during the time of their family's children's births.
In the 1930s, they made the move to Indianapolis, possibly to be near children.
Peter died first, on August 17, 1942, of arteriosclerosis. Burial site is currently unknown, but it is believed to be in a Catholic cemetery with his wife, Minnie.
Minnie died on October 2, 1942, of Chronic Myocarditis, while living with her son, Daniel Forler, and his wife, Irene Gross Forler.
