David R. Astrones, 62, of Doniphan, died Friday, March 27, 2015.
Service and celebration of David’s life will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Doniphan United Methodist Church. Reverend Kelly Karges will officiate. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery. All Faiths Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
David was born November 1, 1952 at Aurora, CO, to Peter and Mary Ann (Spellman) Astrones.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Brenda; daughters, Stephanie (Scott) Roach, Shawna (Mike) Williams and Stacey (Dusty) Kleier, all of Doniphan; nine grandchildren, Thomas, David, Katie and Madi Roach, Bailey, Jaden and Justyce Williams and Brooks, and upon arrival Blain Kleier; twin brother, Dan (Sharon) Astrones of Grand Island; and stepfather, Chet Seig of Republican City.
Survivors also include sisters-in-law, Colleen (Mike) Leitschuck of Lincoln, Gloria (Jeff) Gates of Grand Island and Theresa Dubberly Arkansas; brother-in-law, Terry (Judy) Dubbery of Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, David Dubberly.
Dave grew up in Doniphan, graduating from Doniphan High School, Class of 1971. He went on to attend Wayne State College. He was married to Brenda Dubberly on November 3, 1973.
Dave was employed by New Holland for several years, after which he was a tool salesman for Valenite Tool Co.
He was a member of the Doniphan United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 300, and past member of the Doniphan fire department. His enjoyments included Husker football and golf.
