Two Rivers, Wisconsin - Marie Klein, age 96, of Two Rivers, passed away Saturday morning, December 15, 2018 at Meadow View Assisted Living, Two Rivers.
Marie was born July 14, 1922 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Joseph and Wilhelmina (Gauthier) Richard. She was united in marriage to Ivan Klein on December 19, 1942 at St. Luke's Catholic Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on February 1, 2007.
Marie was an office typist for Manitowoc Shipyard, worked as a clerk at Stangels, and worked for Curtin Matheson in Two Rivers prior to her retirement. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary, the Ladies of St. Peter, the Senior Center of Two Rivers, a volunteer at Hamilton Home and the Historical Society. She was cookie chairman and leader for 14 years with the Girl Scouts, a den mother with the Boy Scouts and past president of the catholic church ladies in Two Rivers.
Survivors include four sons and daughters-in-law: Richard & Gwen Klein, Appleton; Wayne & Jan Klein, Two Rivers; Douglas & Patricia Klein, Two Rivers; Ivan T. & Kathy Klein, Tucson, AZ; one daughter: Mary Fotinos, Two Rivers & AZ; 10 grandchildren: Gary Klein, Cheryl (Matt) Bowman, Sara Klein, Tim Klein, Linda (Jimmy) Briggs, Azurine (Jay) Pare, Hanna (Donny) Klein, Packer Klein, Ivanna (Daniel) Harrison, and Wilhelmina Klein; 7 great grandchildren: Carter, Eric, Payton, Maya, Mariela, Elliana, and Amelia; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Shirley Andrews, Two Rivers; Delores Rice, Ashland; Eldon & Leone Klein, Two Rivers; Leon Klein, Two Rivers; Georgianna Klein, Manitowoc; Sandy & Daniel Klein, Two Rivers; Deanna & Don Hallwacks, Two Rivers; Mary Ann & Kermit Klein, Two Rivers; as well as several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her mother and father, son Jeffery Klein, sister Margaret Richard, brother Larry (Alice) Richard, sister Frances (Harry) McFall, sister Lucille (Edward) Skarbon, sister Winifred (Marc) Johnson, in-laws Marvin & Florence Klein, Harriet & Bob Hooper, Lowell Rice, Gene Klein and John Carroll.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Reynebeau with entombment to take place at Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, town of Kossuth at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Klein & Stangel Funeral Home. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the church.
