James Goodloe Waynick was born on May 31, 1859 in Dickson County, Tennessee, the son of David Waynick and Malinda C (Dickson) Waynick (1820–1909).
He was married in 1890 to Ophelia C Boyden (1871-1920).
A self-employed contractor living at 507 North 1st Street, Nashville, James was 81 years old and a widower when he died at home on May 3, 1941 of chronic myocarditis. Burial was in two days later in Spring Hill Cemetery, Madison.
