Elinor E. (Kaiser, McGlin) Wiesner, age 99, a lifetime resident of Manitowoc, entered eternal peace on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Elinor was born on March 21, 1914, in Rockwood, daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Braun) Kortens. She was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, with the class of 1930. She attended Manitowoc County Normal where she received her teaching diploma. Elinor then continued her education at Silver Lake College where she earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She sang professionally with her sisters under the name "The Braun Sisters" and performed throughout the state in the 1930's and 1940's. On September 25, 1939 she married Joseph Kaiser, who preceded her in death. After the passing of her beloved husband, she married David McGlin on June 17, 1978 and Harold Wiesner on November 2, 1991, both preceded her in death. Elinor taught elementary education throughout the county for 45 years. She loved to share her passion for education with her students, children and grandchildren. Elinor retired from the Two Rivers School District after spending many years at McGee Elementary School teaching 3rd grade. She was active in the St. Andrews Choir and her knitting club. Elinor loved to play 500 Rummy, Scrabble and bake cookies with her grandchildren.
