Mary L. Abbett, 85, of Huntington, IN, died Friday, April 3, 2015, at 12:10 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor.
Mrs. Abbett worked in the laundry department of Huntington Hospital from 1955 to 1957 and as a cook at Lincoln Elementary School from 1968 to 1978. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was born Jan. 5, 1930, in Huntington to Roman Sr. and Mae Vore Stell. She married Rhynard L. Abbett on Aug. 24, 1946, in Huntington, and he survives.
Additional survivors include a son, Terry (Connie) Abbett, of Leesburg; a sister, Patricia Charlesworth; a brother, Roman (Jean Ann) Stell Jr., of Huntington; six grandchildren, Brandi (J.D.) Pass, Chris (Carrie) Abbett, Shane Pulley, Terra (Roger) Finderson, Carrie M. Abbett and Traci (Aaron) Walters; and five great-grandchildren.
Calling is Wednesday, April 8, 2015, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Deal-Rice Funeral Home Huntington Chapel. A service will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at 10 a.m., with calling one hour prior to the service, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Huntington County.
