Bonnie L. Bruce, age 68, a longtime Manitowoc resident, died Thursday afternoon, April 2, 2015 at Maritime Gardens, Manitowoc.

She was born on August 24, 1946 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Douglas (Donald) and Susan (Stasiek) Bruce. Bonnie attended St. Paul Parochial Grade School and was a graduate of Manitowoc Lincoln High School, Class of 1964. She then was a graduate of Silver Lake College, earning her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. Bonnie then attended U.W. Oshkosh, receiving her Master's Degree in Guidance and Counseling. Bonnie was employed with the St. Paul Parochial Grade School in Manitowoc and then the Wrightstown Public School System as a Guidance Counselor for 31 years. She was the proud recipient of the Wisconsin Elementary School Counselor of the Year Award. Bonnie was also the organist at St. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc, for over 30 years.

Survivors include one brother and two sisters-in-law: Jerry and Judy Bruce, Montverde, FL, Cathy Bruce, Manitowoc; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Karen and Fritz Blashka, Manitowoc, Shelly and John Keil, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and very best friend: Elaine Neilitz, Manitowoc. She was also preceded in death by one brother: Leroy Bruce and an infant great nephew: Ryan Bruce.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand (1116 Grand Avenue), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. David Beaudry with burial at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015. A prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:00 p.m. led by Deacon Alan Boeldt. Friends may also call Tuesday morning at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, Manitowoc, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
