She was born June 13, 1944, in Appleton to Harold & Leona (Petit) Heid. She graduated from Xavier High School. On May 30, 1964, she married Arlyn Steffen at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton; Arlyn preceded her in death on May 23, 2009.
Luann was very active in working with the youth spending time in Mississippi with the Outreach Program, the CCD Program, Confirmation, and under privileged children. She portrayed "Mrs. Claus" throughout the area for many years.
She worked at Chilton Metal Products for many years. Luann was also a volunteer transporter for the Meals on Wheels Program in Calumet County.
Luann was very involved in her children's and grandchildren's lives. She enjoyed sitting down and watching a Packers game.
She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein.
Survivors include her four children, Andy (Debra) Steffen, Thomas (Billie Jo) Steffen, Ann Steffes (special friend, Al Ludwig), and Matt (Lisa) Steffen; 11 grandchildren, Brett Steffen, Cassidy "CJ" (Claire) Steffen, Kendra Steffen (special friend, Shane), Matthew Steffen, Derek (Bree) Steffes, Corey Steffes, Carmen Steffes, Dakota Steffen (special friend, Connor), Mason Steffen, Nicholas Steffen, McKenzie Steffen; three step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her brother, Richard (Yvonne) Heid; her sister, Jean Marie (Robert) Mueller; sisters-in-law, Mary Jane Schweitzer and Sandy Steffen. She is further survived by nieces; nephews; other relatives; and many friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Harold & Leona Heid; her husband, Arlyn Steffen; her brother, Kenneth Heid; her father-in-law & mother-in-law, Frank & Veronica Steffen; and many brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
A Liturgy Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 4:30 PM on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1724 Madison Street New Holstein, WI 53061.
Entombment will take place at Knollwood Mausoleum near Manitowoc.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit with Luann's family at Holy Rosary Church on Friday, January 10th from 12:00 noon until 4:00 PM.
