Robert Francis “Bob” Stamant, 70, of Naples, FL died unexpectedly Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at North Collier Hospital. He was born May 23, 1944 in Springfield, MA a son of the late John and Irene (Carmel) Stamant.

Mr. Stamant was a United States Army Veteran who served from 1965 to 1967. Bob earned his bachelor’s degree from Western New England College in 1972. He worked for over 35 years for Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, retiring as Managing Director in the Real Estate Investment Division in 1999. As an avid golfer, Bob was a member of Imperial Golf Club in Naples as well as the Springfield Country Club in West Springfield, where he summered. He was a faithful parishioner at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was an active volunteer in the Jamaica Outreach Program, and also was a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield. Bob loved riding his motorcycle with his brother Jack and with the Legion Riders of the Southwick American Legion Post 338.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Jeanne (Marineau) Stamant; brothers, Edward Gallagher of Needham, MA, Jack Stamant of New Windsor, NY; sisters, Sister Mary Gallagher of Holyoke, MA, Betty (Fred) Stamant Harkins of Naples, FL; and many loving nieces, nephews and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, William Gallagher and Jean Gallagher Jurek.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 625 111th Ave. No., Naples, FL 34108. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church memorial garden.

A memorial mass will be planned this summer at Sacred Heart Church in Springfield.
