Mary Louise Andis-Dorton-Byrd
Mary Louise Andis-Dorton-Byrd, 66, Greenwood, died Thursday at St. Francis Hospital, Beech Grove.
She had a relative in Shelbyville.
Born Aug. 11, 1931, in Springfield, Ill., she was the daughter of James and Helen (Burris) Broaddus. In 1970, she married Cleon Byrd, who died in 1980.
She was owner and operator of the Byrd of Paradise beauty salon, Indianapolis, from 1968 and retired in 1982.
She was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars Ladies' Auxiliary and the American Legion, Shelbyville.
Survivors include a daughter, Pam Bylsma, Shelbyville; eight brothers, James L. Broaddus, Curtis G. Broaddus, Harry L. Broaddus, George A. Broaddus, Charles E. Broaddus and Fred A. Broaddus, all of Indianapolis, Jerry J. Broaddus, Irving, Texas, and Paul Freeberg, Washington, D.C.; five sisters, Jo Anna Grimes, Nancy M. Morton, Patricia L. Broaddus and Dorothy J. Taylor, all of Indianapolis, and Pauline K. Jones, Wake Forest, N.C.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a brother and two grandsons.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Carmony-Ewing Broadway Funeral Home, Shelbyville, with the Rev. Gary W. Huffman officiating.
Friends may call from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
