COURIER JOURNAL OBITUARY – 04/04/2015
ERNST - Anna Dale (Ragle), of Schnitzelburg, returned to her Father in Heaven on April 1, 2015. She was born May 17, 1932, the first daughter of George Russell & Virginia Busch Ragle. Dale graduated from Mercy Academy in 1950 and attended Bellarmine University. She worked for Jewish Hospital for 37 years in the business office and was a charter member of the Quarter Century Club. She was a member St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church and on the parish council for 15 years as well as a lector and minister. She was also a member of Curcillo of Louisville, Schnitzelburg neighborhood association, the MUSCL Senior Citizens, St. Ann's Society, the Filson Club and the Ireland Indiana Historical Society. Dale loved her God, children, cooking and her flower garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons, Mark (Pete) & Russell J. Ernst; two sisters, Rosemary Ida & Jane (Sis) Ragle and her friend Jerry Steiger. Survivors include her children, Cheryl Latham (Ken), Deborah Founder (Howard); her daughter-in-law, Robin Ernst Ramey (Randy) and granddaughters, Christy Ernst and Kate Mitchell; grandson, Quan Founder (Nisey) and great-grandchildren, Trey and Kima; grandson, Che Founder (Lanie) and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Xavier; her three sisters, Dorothy Hofstetter (Carl), Rosemarie Mattingly (William), and Sara J. Mattingly (Terry) as well as all of her cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. A Mass of Resurrection will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Catholic Church, 1020 E. Burnett Ave. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Arch L. Heady Russman & Sons, 1201 E. Oak St. In lieu of customary expressions, donations should be given to St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church or Mass of the Air.
