Mason died yesterday at his home, 79 Marlboro St. He was 93.
He retired from the presidency of the Mason and Hamlin Piano Company, 146 Boylston St., in 1924.
He lectured before many societies, clubs and schools, and was the author of several books on the piano, the organ and Opera.
His late brother, Daniel Gregory Mason, was a noted composer.
Mason is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Helen Hart Endicott, of North Andover, and a son, Henry Lowell Mason Jr. of 73 Marlboro St., and five grandchildren.
