Mrs. Alma Hensley
Funeral services for Mrs. Alma Gertrude Hensley, 44, who died Thursday noon in a hospital in Kansas City will be held at the Wall-Diffenderfer Mortuary at 2 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Mrs. Hensley was the wife of H.N. Hensley, former Topekan, and widely-known in veterans work. He is adjutant general of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mrs. Hensley was born at Wellsville on February 2, 1905, and lived in Topeka for many years prior to moving to Kansas City. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Topeka, and a past-president of the Women's Auxiliary of the V.F.W. here.
Besides her husband, she leaves her father, Ernest Bell of Ottawa; four sisters, Mrs. R.H. Penner of Wichita, Mrs. Louise Hill of Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Elizabeth Bets of Olathe and Mrs. Helen Vepeda of San Antonio, Texas; three brothers, Hollis Bell of Bakersfield, Calif., Charles Bell of Las Vegas, Nev., and Allen Bell of Paola.
The Henley's only son, Lawrence N., died in military service in July 1943.
