Fuessenich, William (Nov. 25, 1804-Sept. 12, 1891 –husband of Margaret Hoffmann [married June 30, 1830 in Weilerswist, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Prussia] –son of Caspar Fuessenich and Margaretha Trimborn –born Strassfeld, Rhineland, Prussia –immigrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1848 –moved to Calumet County by 1852 –on July 3, 1852, William purchased the 160 acres of the NW1/4 of Section 27, Town of Charlestown –on March 11, 1854, William sold these 160 acres to his son-in-law John Amend and his wife Catherine Fuessenich –on June 5, 1855, John Amend sold these 160 acres back to William –on March 14, 1871, William sold these 160 of the NW1/4 of Section 27, Town of Charlestown to Father Ambrose Oschwald –a Catholic boarding school was then built on this land –in the 1860 census for the Town of Eaton, William is shown living in a communal house in St. Nazianz with his wife and two sons Peter and Phillip –also living in this house was his daughter Catherine Fuessenich [the wife of John Amend] plus Catherine's children Margaret [age 4] and Helen [born Oct. 11, 1859] –also living here was likely Catherine's sister-in-law Hannah Amend [age 18] –died in City of Manitowoc) –buried at Calvary Cemetery, City of Manitowoc [death record Manitowoc 4-103]
