Cathy was born on February 14, 1930 in Jackson, Tennessee to Dalford and Beulah Jones. She grew up with 12 brothers and sisters: Sam, Doc, Dee, Tommie, Bertie, Ruby, Jessie, Mary Alice, Verdie May, Nashie, Sadie Lou and Opal. She will join all but Tommie (Doris) Jones, and Nashie Blankenship in heaven.
She met the love of her life in Roosevelt, AZ and married Norman Curran in 1960. Cathy and her three children joined Norman in Pleasant Valley, AZ after they married. She followed Norman to Taos, NM where Sheila, Cyndy and Lisa were born. The family then moved to Thatcher, AZ; Nogales, AZ; Cloudcroft, NM and finally retired in Alamogordo, NM.
Throughout her life Cathy was devoted to her family and friends. She was her children and grandchildren’s biggest fan and was an avid Phoenix Suns NUT. She enjoyed her many friends and workout routine daily at the gym.
Cathy attended Westminster Presbyterian Church. She loved the Lord and all of her church family.
Cathy is survived by her husband of 54 years, Norman Curran; Daughters: Sheila (Wes) Wallin of St. Charles, MO, Cyndy Waugh of Brighton, CO, Lisa (Harold) Burkhardt of Zanesville, OH; Son in Law, Dwight Wardell of Fredericksburg, VA; Grandchildren: Mark Reinhardt, Angel Willis, Kenneth Wallin, Sarah Wardell, Emily Wardell, Christopher Burkhardt, Corrie Burkhardt and Daniel Waugh. Sister: Nashie Blankenship of Lexington, TN; Brother: Tommie (Doris) Jones of Jackson, TN. Brother in Laws: Daryl (Kay) Curran of Springfield, OR; Neil (Bea) Curran of Santa Fe, NM.
She is preceded in death by her children, Dorothy Reinhardt, Mary Wardell, Mark Reinhardt, and Trish Reinhardt; brother-in-law, Harvey Curran.
A Memorial Service is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church located at 2201 15th Street, Alamogordo, NM with Pastor Rick Steele officiating.
