INFECTION IS DEATH CAUSE TO OTTO BRANDT, 41
Infection which set in in his arm from the breaking of his bumped his elbow while at work was believed responsible today for the death of Otto Brandt, 41, who died at the hospital here yesterday afternoon. He had been a patient at the hospital since last Thursday morning and had been ill but a short time prior to that time.

It was said that he injured his elbow last Monday but continued at his work as foreman of the Manitowoc Products company as the apparent minor scratches did not cause him any concern. On Wednesday nighthe complained of feeling ill and the following day he was taken to the hospital but the infection was too well underway to permit the saving of his life.

Born in Forestville on September 5, 1889, he came to Manitowoc about 20 years ago and was employed for some time at the Schreihart company here. He later was employed at the Aluminum Goods Manufacturing company plant, taking his present post about five years ago.

On July 8, 1913, he married Miss Irma Ruthmansdorfer of Two Rivers who with seven children, Ethel, Marion, Gilbert, Norman, George and Roman, all at home (sic-only six named); three brothers, Fred, Joseph and John, all of Sawyer and four sisters, Misses Sophie, Martha, Anna and Louise, all
of Sawyer, survive him.

Funeral services will be held from the St. Boniface church at 9 o’clock Wednesday morning with Father Kersten officiating. Burial will take place at Calvary cemetery.
