It is wild even now. One written reference about you mentioned that you were trying to trap a parrot. There has not been a parrot in Arizona for many years. A lot has changed. You must have been the light of the family. Im sure they mourned your loss. You were pretty Olla May, I've seen your picture. You were cheated out of life. Viewing to you, no one today can complain about their lot in life. We have hundreds of good, happy choices you could not begin to imagine. You were nearly a prisoner in your own home. Rest in peace. I have read all your entries on the Power family and Tom Sisson of the Gallura Mountains in Arizona. Please don't take offense, but I find a good many mistakes on your information you have posted. I don't "know it all" about the circumstances, but I grew up with people who knew the Power family quite well. Tom Sisson was a friend of my father's.
Tom Sisson IS buried in the Florence cemetery. My daughter and I personally took pictures of his grave. Our family has ridden all the trails to Power Garden, the mine and "shoot out cabin". I have read the transcripts of the trial in Clifton, Arizona. I have been to and photographed Martha Morgan Power's grave in Gila, New Mexico, where the roof of the dugout house collapsed and killed her. She was Old Man Jeff Power's wife. His mother was named Martha Jane Power and she was killed in a runaway accident.
My in-laws and the Power family were very good friends. It was to their place in Taylor, Arizona, that the Power brothers, Tom and John went upon getting out of prison. We have a ring that one of the Power boys made from a 25 cent piece while he was in prison. He gave it to my husband's mother.
Tom and John tried to enlist in the army, but were told at the post office that they weren't taking anyone at the time, but for them to go home and they'd be notified when to come in to enlist. They tried to enlist, they were not "slackers".
Tom Jeff Power died at the Joe Bull ranch, near Bonito, Graham County, Arizona--not the Aragon Place in Greenlee County.
You do not mention Charles Power. He was the eldest son who left home before the shoot-out took place. He would not befriend his brothers and never once contacted them while they were in prison nor attended their trial. He now lays in an unmarked grave in the old Hot Springs Cemetery in T or C, New Mexico. I have been there too and photographed the possible spot of the paupers grave which was shown to me by the custodian of the cemetery.
I have pictures of all the graves of the Power family, including Tom Sisson's grave. I appreciate your trying to bring out the information on this tragedy, but let's clear it up a little. You see it just tears me up when I read misinformation, but the sad thing is, some uniformed person will come along and read it and take it for gospel truth I would be happy to post the pictures I have, especially of Tom Sisson.

From "Shoot Out At Dawn An Arizona Tragedy" BY TOM POWER with John Whitlatch, Ola May died Dec. 6, 1917, (buried the next day)She had been sick for some time, complaining of pain in her neck, and had consulted several Doctors, Two of which were Dr. Platt (coroner for the coroners jury) and Dr. Warner. When the boys returned from the mine, they stopped by her little house, and found her across her bed, writhing in pain, and making strange noises, when they asked her what was wrong, she just said "Poison", and then died.
This is by the account of her brother Tom Power.
