GEORGE F. BONIN

Mr. George F. Bonin, 76, of 1121 S. 23rd Street, Manitowoc, died Friday, January 8, 1988 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay. Funeral services will be 9:30 am at Harrigan-Parkside Funeral Home and 10 am at ST. Paul Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Harold Berryman and entombment will be in Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc.
Mr. Bonin was born February 22, 1911 at Manitowoc, Wisconsin, son of the late John and Hattie Gates Bonin. For 33 years he worked with local contractors as a Mason. He then became employed with the Manitowoc Public Schools System where he worked in the maintenance department, retiring in 1974. He married Alice Stryzeski on January 10, 1935 at Manitowoc. Mr. Bonin was well known throughout this community for his sign painting and cartoon drawing. Mr. Bonin was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc and Masons Union Local No. 11.
Survivors include his wife, Alice; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Robert Bonin and John and Mariam Bonin of Manitowoc; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Nancy and David Benett, Mary and Tom Engleman of Manitowoc and Jean Slager of Milwaukee; six grandchildren, one great grandson, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home, 4 pm to 8 pm Monday where a prayer service will be 7 pm.
