CHESTER F. BUDYSZ

Chester F. Budysz, age 81, of 1133 S. 19th St., Manitowoc, died Wednesday evening, Jan. 19, 2005, at St. Mary's Home, Manitowoc.

He was born May 19, 1923, in Manitowoc, son of the late Lucian and Stella Wachowiacz Budysz. Chester was a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Air Force from 1942 to 1945 with a tour of duty overseas in Iceland and England. On Feb. 23, 1946, he married the former Carol Mae Markowski at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Chester was employed at Mirro Company for 40 years, retiring in 1987. He was a former member and past president of St. Mary's Men's Club and Holy Name Society. Chester was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc Senior Citizens and a life member of AMVETS Post #99.

Survivors include his wife: Carol Mae Budysz, Manitowoc; two sons and daughters-in-law: Gary and Carol Budysz, Manitowoc; Bruce and Mary Lynn Budysz, Whitelaw; a daughter: Cathy Thomas, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren: Tracy Thomas and his wife, Toni; Scott Thomas; Michelle and Travis Budysz; Christine, Jennifer and Jonathan Jagodzinsky; five great-grandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: Clarence Markowski and his wife, Delores, Manitowoc; and a sister-in-law: Lenore Mrotek and her husband, Eugene, Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was also preceded in death by a brother: Joseph.

The family will greet relatives and friends at The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, where a prayer service will conclude the visitation at 7:30 p.m. led by Deacon Phil Andrastek. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2005, at The Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Tom Wojciechowski O.F.M. with entombment at Calvary Mausoleum, Manitowoc. Military rites will be accorded by AMVETS Post #99.
