John "Johnny" Mallett died unexpectantly on August 19, 2005.

As a friend of the family, I chose to place Johnny's memorial page on this site. Through the years since his death, I have learned more about this young man and wish that I could have known him during his time on Earth... I've heard so many, many stories over the last decade, and I'd like to add a few of them to the memorial. =)

Firstly, Johnny liked to barbeque, and I have been hard pressed to find anybody who preferred somebody else behind the outdoor grill; his favourite barbeque sauce was technically titled otherwise, but he preferred to call it, "You're Gonna Need Medical Care After Eating This." =) He liked hot food, classic rock, reading, sketching and hiking along anywhere there was a lake and the chance of good fishing.

Johnny had ties to Louisiana but considered himself an Alabama boy; he had hoped to visit the West Coast before his untimely passing. He loved the Atlantic Ocean, his family and summer evenings, and said more than once that if could choose his 'theme song' to Life, it would have been Journey's "Lights".

He also liked classic television - "Twilight Zone" and anything from the '60s has been mentioned to me -, and for anybody who never got to hear his laugh - "Listen to Little Joe laugh in the show BONANZA - that's Johnny's laugh, to a 't'."

Johnny is loved and missed by his friends and family, and it has been an honor for me to be allowed to place and manage his memorial page, and hear the stories. Look forward to meeting you on those shores someday, Johnny.
