Karen L. Boettcher, age 80, of Two Rivers, passed away suddenly on Sunday, May 8, 2016 at Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.

Karen was born Feb. 11, 1936 in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Stanley and Irene (Simons) Gunderson. She was a graduate of Washington High School with the class of 1954. On June 2, 1956 she was united in marriage to Roland N. Boettcher at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. He preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 1995. Karen worked for Mirro Aluminum retiring April 1, 1999. She was a member of Emanuel United Methodist Choir as well as the Red Hatters. Karen was a volunteer at TREP and enjoyed her monthly lunches with her high school classmates. She enjoyed time spent with family, whether it be a friendly game of "May I" or a very organized domino's tournament.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Debra Boettcher, Reedsville, Bruce and Shirleen Boettcher, Two Rivers; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sue Ann Meares, New York, Carrie and Chris Butze, California; eleven grandchildren, Lindsay (Tony) Weisner, Brady, Landon and Bailey Boettcher; David (Crystal) Boettcher, Bradley Boettcher, Anna (Travis) Nate, Arianna and Cillian Meares and Caitlyn and Camryn Butze; nine great grandchildren, Lilly, Ashlyn, Brantley, Garrett, Evelyn, Grady, Trenton, Sophia and one on the way; one sister, Charlotte Foley, CA and two sisters-in-law, Sandra Gunderson, Sheboygan Falls, and Delores Boettcher, Two Rivers. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Karen was preceded in death by two brothers, Lynn and Gerald Gunderson and four sisters, Edith Ruthmansdorfer, Jean Torrens, Shirley Wilsmann, Betty Dennis as well as many in-laws.

Cremation has taken place at All Care Cremation Center and a memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Emanuel United Methodist Church, Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Joan Frost with entombment of the cremated remains to be at Knollwood Mausoleum, Town of Kossuth. The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 9:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am. The Klein & Stangel Funeral Home and All Care Cremation Center, Two Rivers is assisting the Boettcher family with funeral arrangements.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Offord, physician's assistant, Sarah and the staff at Aurora Baycare Center, Green Bay, for the care and compassion shown to Karen and her family, as well as the paramedics in Two Rivers and the staff of Aurora Medical Center, Two Rivers.
