Lorie Hill Greenwood Brush, born September 29, 1923 in Dixie County, Florida, passed away June 2, 2008 in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. Lorie graduated from Dixie County High School and received an undergraduate degree from Florida State University. She taught school in Dixie County. She loved teaching, but for economic reasons decided to start a modeling career. She graduated from the Barbizon School of Modeling in New York and later taught dancing for Arthur Murray in Manhattan. Lorie married Murray Greenwood and had four children. She divorced Murray Greenwood in 1958 and moved back to Dixie County, Florida. In 1960 she married Jesse Brush and moved to Jacksonville, Florida. She returned to college and graduated from Jacksonville University in 1973. Lorie then returned to her first love, teaching, which she retired from in 1991 after 28 years. She divorced Jesse Brush in 1977. After retiring, Lorie enjoyed traveling, volunteering at Memorial Hospital and spending time with her family. Lorie was a member of Palms Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind four children: Mark Greenwood (Vicky), Brian Greenwood (Jacqueline), Shelly Bermont (Richard) and Lisa Wilder (Mark); four grandchildren: Taylor Peterson, Torrie Peterson, Conner Lavin and Bradley Bermont; four step-grandchildren: Kelymarie Jackson, Dustin Jackson, Maddie Wilder and Marissa Wilder.
