LITCHFIELD -- William L. Albers, 67, of Litchfield died Saturday, May 27, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Litchfield Christian Church. The Rev. Barbara Spangler will official. Burial will be in the Litchfield Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the church.

Rasmussen Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Albers was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Sherman County to William and Florence (Hansen) Albers.

Survivors of the immediate family include his wife, Deloris Albers; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Gene Schacher of Grand Island and Kim and Jeff Jensen of Ravenna; a sister, Susie Lewis of Tucson, Ariz.; and two brothers, Gary and Randy Albers, both of Rapid City, S.D.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, Amber Schacher, Shayna Schacher and Shelby Schacher of Grand Island, and Travis Jensen, Clint Jensen and Adam Jensen of Ravenna; and 11 nieces and nephews.

Bill was educated in Rockville and Loup City, and graduated from Rapid City, S.D., High School.

He served three years in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany.

Bill married Deloris Feldman on April 1, 1962, in Litchfield. They made their home on a farm south of Litchfield. They retired to Litchfield in 1995. Bill worked part time for Trotter Fertilizer.

He served 31 years on the Lads and Lassies board and several years on the Old Settlers Picnic Board.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
