James L. "Jim" Byrd, 85, of Gastonia, was a son to the late Leonard and Lola Smith Byrd. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Edith Mulkey Byrd; sons, Bobby Lee and Michael James Byrd; brothers, Raymond and Richard Byrd.
Jim was a textile supervisor with Ticaro, Inc. and retired after 50 years of service, a US Army Veteran and attended Living Hope Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Edith Mulkey Byrd, two sons, Bobby Lee and Michael James Byrd and also two brothers, Raymond and Richard Byrd.
Interment in Gaston Memorial Park with military honors.
