Leo R. Sprang, 93, formerly of Manitowoc, passed away in Phoenix, AZ, on April 6, 2015.
Leo was born on Oct. 29, 1921, to the late Adolph and Rose Jaquette Sprang.
In his younger years he worked on the family farm then enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and proudly served in the Aleutian Island Theater of Operation. He left Wisconsin in 1955, to work as a painter in the construction field and eventually started his own interior painting and handyman business retiring in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo, stepchildren and numerous beloved nieces and nephews as well as other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 9 brothers and sisters, Clara (John) Ruminski, Viola (Butch) Naumann, Joe (Katherine), John (Lila), Melvin (Viola), Anton (Ruth), Clement (Johanna), Herbert (Elaine), Leona (Sylvester) Koneczka and his 1st wife, Casey.
A Memorial service will be held at Knollwood Mausoleum on Saturday, May 9 at 11 a.m.
