Mrs. Frances E. Cherney, 80, of 1314 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday
at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and
at 10:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John
Hephner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Cherney, nee Frances Neff, was born Nov. 9, 1892, in Wisconsin, daughter
of the late Joseph and Amy Neff. She was married to Edward L. Gagner in 1909,
at Park Falls, Wis. He preceded her in death Oct. 27, 1971. (sic)
Survivors include four sons, Edward Gagner, of Nebraska, Joseph Gagner, of
California, Elmer Gagner, of Florida, and Gene Gagner, of Virginia; a daughter,
Mrs. Claire Silbersack, of Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Notz, of Two
Rivers and Mrs. Ervin Vetting, of Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rose Neff,
of Manitowoc; 31 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Two sons, a daughter,
a brother and a sister preceded her in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday where a memorial
service will be at 7 p.m.
