EDWARD A. ELFNER (d. 1990)

Mr. Edward A. Elfner, 69, of 7106 Hwy. 151, Manitowoc, died Saturday morning, January 6, 1990, at his residence.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Alverno. Presiding at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Michael Somers and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Mantiowoc.

Mr. Elfner was born July 17, 1920, at Manitowoc, son of the late Edward and Julia Bellin Elfner. He was a lifelong Manitowoc County resident and graduated from Lincoln High School with the Class of 1938. Mr. Elfner was employed by Manitowoc Public Utilities for 38 years retiring in 1980 as Purchasing Agent.

Mr. Elfner was a member and currently serving on the Board of Directors of the Manitowoc Golden (K) Kiwanis, the ASFCME and the Manitowoc Municipal Employees Credit Union. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 710, Elks Lodge 687, Eagles Aerie 706, Manitowoc Yacht Club, TPA, UCT, and the North End Hospice Group. He married the former Dorothy H. Wimmer on August 21, 1970, at Manitowoc.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Jan Elfner of Manitowoc; a daughter, Julie Ryan of Milwaukee; two brothers, Lloyd Elfner of Tallahassee, Florida, and Robert Elfner of Manitowoc; a sister, Kathryn Kalusky of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a step sister Arline (Ray) Neumann of Glenbeulah, Wisconsin; and six grandchildren, Erin and Ian Elfner and David, Sean, Anne and Dan Ryan. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George V. Elfner and Ervin H. Elfner.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 5 p.m to 9 p.m. this Monday where a prayer service will be at 8 p.m. by Father Somers.
