WILLIAM CHARLES HERRMANN

William Charles Herrmann, III, 76, who resided at Shady Lane Home, Manitowoc, formerly of 1413 S. 10th St., Manitowoc, died Sunday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 11:30 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. John Hephner will officiate and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.

Mr. Herrmann was born June 30, 1897, at Manitowoc, son of the late William and Theresa Friedl Herrmann. He was graduated from the old Manitowoc High School with the Class of 1917. He married Marion C. Finley June 12, 1928, at the Holy Family Hospital Chapel, Manitowoc.
She preceded him in death July 10, 1971.

Mr. Herrmann was the former Manitowoc city treasurer for 43 years, retiring in 1962. He was a 50-year member of the Elks Lodge of Manitowoc and past secretary for 34 years. He was a 50-year member of the Knights of Columbus and presently was a Fourth Degree member.
He also was a 50-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706, a life member of the Frier Saengerbund and a charter member of the Easter Seal Society and the National Foundation and past treasurer of both organizations.

Survivors include two sons, William R., of Two Rivers and Andrew F., of Manitowoc, a daughter, Mrs. Al (Mary Jane) Dennis, of Berwyn, Ill, and eight grandchildren.

Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home from 4 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, where a memorial service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus and friends.
