Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 1996, at the Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born July 26, 1912, in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Stanley and Clara Zagrodnik Pokorski. On October 19, 1944, she married Lawrence J. Fuka at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death February 9, 1977. Mrs. Fuka was employed at the Mirro Corporation and the Sears Department Store before her marriage. After her marriage to Lawrence the couple owned and operated Fuka’s Drug Store at 1914 Hamilton St., and the business then relocated in 1950 to the corner of 20th and Marshall. She was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s Parish, and a member of the Alleluia Choir and the Rosary and Altar Society of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Stanley Fuka, Denver, Colo., John and Diane Fuka, Manitowoc, Clarence and Vicki Fuka, Round Lake Beach, Ill.; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Dorothy and Ronald Herning, Baltimore, Md., Mary Fox, Madison, Clara and Fred Villanueva, Glendora, Calif.; a brother and sister-in-law, Clem and Hilde Pokorski, Manitowoc; a sister-in-law, Lillian LeClair, Manitowoc. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, a special family friend, Theresa Tomchek, along with other relatives and friends.
Friends may call at the Pfefer Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Father Roman.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Bernie, Sophia and Linda of the Dunn Group Home.
