Harry was the second of three children born to David Anthony Prugh/Prue (born in Quebec in 1854, died Westmoreland Co., PA in 1922) and Phoebe J. Tarbell(born in Erie, PA in 1861, died there in 1923). He served in the US Army during the Phillipine Insurrection in 1899-1900 as part of the 47th division. After returning home he worked as a police officer for the Pennsylvania Railroad until retirement. He lived in Greensburg, Pennsylvania most of his life.
