Alcide Mervin ‘Blue’ Prudhomme, 76, a native of Lawtell and a resident of Charenton died Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at 6:45 p.m. at his residence.

Blue is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary; two daughters, Christine and her husband, Brad Burke, of Spring, TX., and Suzanne Prudhomme of Victoria, TX.; three grandchildren, Brandon, Kaitlin, and Drew.

Blue finished Lawtell High School in 1953, graduated from USL in 1961 with a B.S. in Education from the College of Agriculture. Upon graduation, he was employed by the State of Louisiana, Office of Community Services in St. Mary Parish until his retirement in 1987.

The family requests that visitation be observed Friday, February 18, 2011 from 9 to 11am, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, officiated by Father Bill Crumley.
