Daisy Givens Varner, 87, of Burkburnett, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2015.

Daisy was born on June 14, 1927 in Electra, Texas to the late Ogden and Margaret Maye (Brown) Givens. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Dorcus Sunday School Class. Daisy loved crocheting and cooking. Her passion in life was her family. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Varner; a brother, Monty Givens; two sisters, Peggy Ariola, and Jan Ray; step-sister, Judy Young; and her great-granddaughter, Destiney Paige Newcomer.
She is survived by her two daughters, Pam Welch and husband Sammie of Harrold, and Debbie Varner of Burkburnett; her sister-in-law, Sally Beth Givens of Burkburnett; three step-brothers, Ralph Gum and wife Adrienne of Arlington, Ricky Gum and wife Angelica of El Paso, and James Gum and wife Cathy of Houston; her step-sister, Becky Buris of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren, John Paul Welch, Tammie Newcomer and husband Randy, and Travis Welch and wife Angela; nine great-grandchildren, Daly Welch, Jakeb Welch, Rainey Newcomer, Aspen Newcomer, Kellie Newcomer, Lilly Welch, and Sawyer Welch; special niece, Dawn Fisher and husband Scott of Vernon; special great-niece and great-nephew, Codi and Clay Fisher; as well as other numerous special nieces and nephews.
