Death of Mary Halaba(sic), almost 12 years old, in an accident day before yesterday about 1:30 in the afternoon.
She was the daughter of the fireman at Rahr's Sons Brewery by the name of Wenzel Halaba. She tried to jump onto
the Main St. bridge just as it was revolving. She tried to hang onto the iron handrails but was thrown into the water.
Her death must have been caused from bruising and internal injuries following which she spent an hour in the water before anyone found her body. Her burial took place this morning at 9am at the Catholic Cemetery.
