Memorial Services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, September 21, 1996, at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, DeForest. Father Daniel Finnane will officiate with inurnment in Two Rivers.
Philip Marcus Hanson was born November 12, 1919, in Two Rivers, son of Burton and Anna (Roalkvam) Hanson. On February 5, 1941, he was united in marriage with Ethelwyn L. Geimer at Two Rivers. Mr. Hanson served in the Air Force during World War II. He worked for Nelson Lumber Yard, Two Rivers, before moving to Windsor to work as an estimator for the Chase Lumber Company in Windsor and DeForest. He was a charter member and past president of the Two Rivers Kiwanis Club and a member of the DeForest Area Chamber of Commerce and St. Olaf's Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethelwyn Hanson, Windsor; his friend and companion, Pogo, an English Cocker Spaniel; one brother, Edward (Eunice) Hanson, Boston, Mass.; one sister, Dorothy Meyers, Naperville, Ill.; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call on Saturday, September 21, 1996, at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, DeForest, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. The Edwardson-Axtel Community Funeral Home, DeForest, is assisting the family with arrangements. His family asks that memorials be made in his name to the Dane County Humane Society, St. Olaf's Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.
Philip was a devoted and loving husband, brother and uncle.
