Gust Herzog, Former Ship Yard Worker, Dies Today
Gust Herzog, aged 57 years, for 20 years an employe at the shipyards, prior to that time operator of a milk route south of the city and builder of the Lake Shore Hall on
South Tenth street
, died early this morning at the Holy Family hospital. He had been ill a week and was removed to the hospital last Friday from his home, 825 South 24th street.
Funeral services will be held from the home at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and at 9 o'clock at St. Paul's Catholic church, with interment at Calvary cemetery.
The deceased was born in 1876 in the town of Manitowoc and operated a milk route. Thirty years ago he erected the Lake Shore hall on
South Tenth street and later located in this city when he was employed at the ship yards.
Mr. Herzog was married 34 years ago to Miss Mary Dietl in this city. She survives with a son, Roland j. of this city; three daughters, Alice, Helen and Genevieve, all at home, a brother John of South Tenth street and a sister, Mrs. John Moss, of the town of Manitowoc.
The remains may be viewed tonight at the Pfeffer funeral home and will be removed to the home on
South 24th street Wednesday morning.
