Funeral Services will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday, September 23, 1999, at St. Mary’s Home Chapel, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Wojciechowski, O.F.M. with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
She was born January 27, 1905, in Two Rivers, daughter of the late Nick and Mary Lamach, Beth. Leona was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1922. On September 19, 1927, she married Erving Hoffman. He preceded her in death on August 23, 1960. Leona was employed as a secretary for the Fischer-Dicke Law Office and also for the Smith-Harlow Law Office for many years. Leona was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She was an avid bowler, golfer and card player.
Survivors include two nieces, Vernetta Nebel and Shirley Steinhauer and her husband, Richard; one nephew, Roy Beth and his wife, Laverne; one grand nephew, Lee Nebel and his wife, Jane, all of Two Rivers. Also surviving are special friends, Harold and Gloria Trainor; and Beatrice Lallensack; all of Manitowoc; grand nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Laura Nagle and Esther Williams; and one brother, Roland Beth.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Mary’s Home Chapel from 8 a.m. Thursday until the time of service at 9 a.m.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the nurses on the East Tower of St. Mary’s Home for the wonderful care given to Leona.
