Thomas Holschbach, age 89, a resident of St. Mary's Nursing Home at Felician Village, Manitowoc, entered into eternal life on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2009, at the nursing home.
Tom was born on Dec. 7, 1920, in Brown County, Wis., to the late Edmund and Theresa Halfrish Holschbach. He had served in the United States Army in the European Theater from 1942 to 1945 and was awarded the Purple Heart. On Aug. 21, 1945, Tom married Doris T. Felten in Manitowoc. Doris preceded him in death on Oct. 28, 2008. Tom was a longtime employee of
Manitowoc Company until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi in Manitowoc.
Survivors include his daughter: Claran LaViolette, Manitowoc; one granddaughter: Chandra (Rob) Susedik, Old Bridge, N.J.; two great-grandchildren: Ella and Aiden; also other relatives
and friends.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Blessed Angel Chapel at Felician Village, 1635 S. 21st St., Manitowoc, from 10:45 a.m. until the beginning of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Daniel Schuster will officiate with burial to take place at Calvary Cemetery.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
Tom's family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the staff of St. Mary's Nursing Home for the care they had provided to Tom over the years.
