Alphonse Holschbach, 81, of 1701 Marshall St., Manitowoc, died Thursday in Rocky Knoll Nursing Home, Plymouth.
Funeral services will be Monday morning in St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Time will be announced Saturday by Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc. The Rev. Theodore Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mr. Holschbach was born April 15, 1896, in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids, son of the late Joseph and Anna Bottkol Holschbach. He was a veteran of World War I serving with the 4th Infantry Division in France and Germany. He married Mary Svatek April 12, 1921, in St. Mary Catholic Church, Reedsville. The couple farmed in the Town of Manitowoc Rapids until their retirement in 1961. Mr. and Mr. Holschbach celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1971. Mr. Holschbach was a member of VFW Post 659 and a former member of the Manitowoc County Farm Bureau and St. Boniface Holy Name Society.
Survivors include his wife, three sons, Andrew of Two Rivers, Norbert of Cudahy and Ronald, of Manitowoc; seven daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Beatrice) Drida of Manitowoc, Mrs. Floyd (Marian) Zeman of Cato, Mrs. Bernard (Carol) Kleiber of Plymouth, Mrs. Clement (Joan) Krueger of Barrie, Ontario, Mrs. Charles (Marcella) Duellman of South Milwaukee, Mrs. Edgar (Elaine) Juedes of Maribel and Mrs. John (Patricia) Becker of Mishicot; a sister, Mrs. Joe (Marie) Scherer of Manitowoc; 73 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. A daughter, Mrs. Joe (Elizabeth) Korniek and three brothers, Joe, Arnold and Emil Holschbach preceded him in death.

SOLDIER BOY CLAIMS A BRIDE AT REEDSVILLE
Another overseas veteran of the county, who escaped the bullets of the enemy, has surrendered to Cupid and at Reedsville today Adolph Holschbach was led captive to the altar by Miss Mary Svatek, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Svatek. The wedding was celebrated at St. Mary's church, Rev. Vondracek officiating. Misses Barbara Svatek and Marie Holschbach and Arnold Holschbach and Emil Svatek attended the bridal pair. A wedding dinner at the bride's home was attended by fifty families. Mr. and Mrs. Holschbach departed late today for the northern part of the state and will spend two weeks in northern Wisconsin and Michigan before taking up their home on a farm here. Among out-of-town guests at the wedding were Mrs. Frances King of Wautoma; Mr. and Mrs. Frank Schneider, Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. John Hajek, Antigo, and many from this city and Francis Creek.
