Leona M. Houghton, age 94, a former Manitowoc resident, died Saturday, Jan. 19, 2002 at The Kewaunee Health Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, Jan 22, 2002 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Camillus Janas O.F.M., with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Leona was born on Oct. 26, 1907 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Gottfried and Frances Fisher Selch. On Sept. 21, 1929 she married Clarence Houghton at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Nov. 2, 1993. Leona was employed at S. S. Kresge’s Company in both Manitowoc and Green Bay for many years. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, and Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Kewaunee. Leona enjoyed listening to the Packer and Brewer games and also loved collecting toys.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law: Jeanne and Willard Kickbusch, Kewaunee; five grandchildren: Debra Duescher and her husband Brian, Luxemburg; Michael Kickbusch and his wife Pam, Kewaunee; Tammy Paplham, Algoma; Tom Kickbusch and special friend, Bonnie Kinjerski, Kewaunee; Patti Weyenberg and her husband Patrick, Algoma; eight great-grandchildren: Jessica, Jeannie, Desiree, Bridget, Cody, Zachary, Chelsea and Ashley. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Leona was also preceded in death by six sisters.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc, on Tuesday (TODAY), Jan. 22, 2002 from 9 a.m. until the time of service at 10:30 a.m.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Weisse and the staff at Kewaunee Health Care Center and Silver Leaf Manor.
