Joseph R. Hoyer, 71, of 1012 Green St., Manitowoc, died at 6:30 am Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc, where he had been a patient 10 weeks. Funeral services will be at 9:30 am Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and at 10 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. D.L. Krembs will officiate at the solemn requiem Mass and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Hoyer was born Feb. 20, 1895, at Manitowoc, son of the late John and Anna Steinger Hoyer. He was educated at St. Boniface Parochial School and married Anita T. Klinkner Sept. 8, 1919 at St. Boniface. He was employed as a tool and diemaker by the Manitowoc Equipment Works for 50 years and was a member of Manitowoc Machinists Local 516.
Survivors are the wife, two sons, Paul and William, a daughter, Mrs. Robert Gilbert; two brothers, Walter and Clarence and two sisters, Mrs. Edward Specht and Miss Aurora Hoyer of Manitowoc and 11 grandchildren. A brother preceded him in death.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 pm Sunday where at 8 pm the Rosary will be recited.
