Shirley Joyce (Baugh) Cox, of Flint, age 76, died Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at her residence. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Mike Prince officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice. Shirley was born in Bono, Arkansas on August 10, 1935, the daughter of the late Basil and Ruth (Hathcoat) Baugh. She married Howard L. "Les" Cox on December 10, 1951 in Bono Arkansas. Surviving are husband of 60 years, Howard; sons, Mike (Sue) Cox of Dover, PA and Rich (Cindy) Cox of Burton; daughter, Kim Cox (Bob) Heyworth of Grand Blanc; 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Bonnie Baugh Nardi and brother, Ronnie Baugh both of Florida. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Baugh and sister Vauda Baugh Caples.
