Arlene M. Zessin, 78, of Grand Island died Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at CHI Health St. Francis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at All Faiths Funeral Home. The Rev. Gary Schulte will officiate. Burial will be in the Grand Island Cemetery.
Mrs. Zessin was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Magnet, the daughter of Walter and Hattie (Clapp) Stueckrath.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Harold; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Karl Siemon and grandson, Craig Siemon, all of Grand Island; sister, Donna Hughes of Grand Island; and brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Maryann Stueckrath of Madison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, LaVonne Nissan, JoAnne Collins and Norma Kuhl; brother, DeVern Stueckrath; and an infant brother.
Arlene was raised on a family farm in Cedar County. She was united in marriage to Harold Zessin on Feb. 25, 1956. They lived in Norfolk, farmed in Pierce County for 20 years and moved to Grand Island in 1981. She worked in the laundry services at St. Francis Medical Center. Also, she worked with in-home healthcare for the elderly, of which she was proud.
Arlene was a member of ARC of Central Nebraska. She enjoyed traveling. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with family.
