Judith J. Kolbeck, age 99, a resident of St. Mary's Home at Felician Village, entered eternal life early Saturday morning, Jan. 15, 2011, at St. Mary's Home.
Judith was born on July 27, 1911, in Two Rivers. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Pauline Oziol Rehrauer. Judith was a graduate of Hilbert High School with the class of 1930. On Nov. 7, 1936, she married Walter Kolbeck Sr. in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 1981. Judith had been employed as a clerk for several stores in the Manitowoc area and for the last 15 years prior to her retirement in 1990 she had worked for Berk's Inc. in Manitowoc. Judith, along with her late husband, Walter, owned and operated Kolbeck's Bar, which was located at the corner of South 10th and Marshall streets in Manitowoc for many years. Judith was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.
She is survived by four children: Mary Ann Buege, Lynnwood, Wash.; Robert (Sharon) Kolbeck Sr., Manitowoc, Wis.; W. Michael Kolbeck Jr., Elcojon, Calif., Richard (Beth) Kolbeck, Manitowoc, Wis.; one brother: Donald Rehrauer, Manitowoc, Wis.; daughter-in-law: Connie Kolbeck, Manitowoc, Wis.; sister-in-law: Lorraine Rehrauer, Manitowoc, Wis.; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Walter Kolbeck Sr.; a son in infancy; her son, Thomas Kolbeck; two brothers: Paul and Richard Rehrauer; and one sister: Florence Vollmer.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by the Rev. Daniel Felton. Burial of her cremains will be at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
