Ralph Kornely, 47, owner-proprietor of the Kornely Tavern at Maribel,
died unexpectedly at his home there Tuesday morning following a heart
attack.
Funeral services will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the Urbanek and
Schlei Funeral Home, Manitowoc, and at 10 a.m. at St. James Catholic
Church, Cooperstown, the Rev. Peter Schroeder officiating. Burial will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc, with military graveside rites by
Drews-Bleser, Post 88, American Legion.
Mr. Kornely was born Sept. 20, 1908, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George
Kornely Sr., of the town of Cooperstown. He married the former Alice
Cherney there on Nov. 6, 1945. They located in Maribel.
Kornely was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the ZCBJ Lodge, the
Holy Name Society of St. James Church, the American Legion, Drews-Bleser
Post 88, the Manitowoc County Tavern League and the Maribel Sportsmen's
Club. He was a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include the wife, a daughter, three brothers (names omitted
for privacy).
Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Rosary
will be recited at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

died in 1944.
