Albian P. Kuffel, age 89, of 1123 S. 11th St., Manitowoc, presently residing at Shady Lane Home, died Wednesday evening, February 4, 1998, at the home.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 1998, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. Rev. Carl Meulemans will officiate at the Memorial Mass. Burial of Mr. Kuffel’s cremains will take place at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.
He was born November 25, 1908, in Newton, Wis., son of the late Joseph and Mary Kortas Kuffel. He married the former Claire Saduske on August 17, 1936, at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Albian was employed at Eastman Company for many years until his retirement in 1981. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, an avid dartball player, gardener, and loved to walk and fish.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Kuffel, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Roxie Kuffel, Waubena, Wis.; three daughters and a son-in-law, Dianne Dewane, Manitowoc, Sue and Steve Schultz, Waukesha, Wis., and Cindi Kleiber, Manitowoc; one sister, Willette Stelmach, Manitowoc; six grandchildren, Steve Schultz, Jr. and his wife Carrie, Christopher Dewane and his wife Kristin, Sara Schultz, Jamey Dewane, Kevin Kleiber, Kurt Kleiber; and two great grandchildren, T. J. and Holly Dewane. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Lars Kuffel.
The family will receive relatives and friends at St. Boniface Catholic Church on Saturday from 12 noon until the time of the Memorial Mass at 1 p.m. There will be no Friday evening visitation.
The Pfeffer Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
