Arthur Everett Austin converted an old barn on the Lt. Jacob Smith farm into the Windham Playhouse, where he was he owner and producer. It ran productions from 1946 to 1957. He was the Director of the Ringling Brothers Museum of Art in Florida. He was an actor, producer and set designer in productions all over the United States.
