Rites held Wednesday for Gene Gagnon

Eugene (Gene) Gagnon, 63, a former resident of Grafton, died at Grand Rapids, Minn., Wednesday afternoon, according to information received here. He was in business at Cohasset, Minn., at the time of his death.
He was born at Cashel Nov.22, 1891, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Gagnon, and was raised in this area and attended the Grafton high school.
Employed with Al Driscoll, in the grocery department of W.W. Reyleck Co. for several years. Gagnon was a captain in Company C of the Grafton national guard unit. He enlisted in the marine corps in 1917 and served during World War I.
He is survived by his wife, two sons Eugene and Thomas, and a daughter Mary Josephine, who graduates June 4 from the high school at Grand Rapids.
Several relatives from this area attended the funeral services.





Eugene was my grandmother's brother. Married Josephine Mary Guertin on September 8, 1925. He worked as a laborer and was a Roman Catholic. He and Mary had three children - Eugene, Thomas and Mary.
