Paul H. Kohlmeier, age 76, a resident of Manitowoc, unexpectedly entered into eternal life on Monday, June 4, 2012 at Aurora Bay Care Medical Center in Green Bay while surrounded by his loving family.

Paul was born on June 14, 1935 in Manitowoc to the late Harvey and Esther Franz Kohlmeier. He graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1954. On June 8, 1957, Paul married Helen Shambeau at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Two Rivers. He was employed with the City of Manitowoc as Assistant Superintendant of the Street Department. Paul and Helen had also owned and operated Paul Spur Service as a gas station and offered Christmas trees, flowers, etc. He enjoyed watching the Packers, Brewers, and Badgers, fishing, camping, racing pigeons, coaching and sponsoring numerous youth sports, and above all, spending time with his family - especially his grandchildren's sporting events. Paul was a member of Two Rivers Pigeon Racing Flying Club and Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. He had volunteered for the City of Manitowoc Safety Committee and also for his daughter, Paula at PK's Beans N' Cream.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen; five children: Cindy (Wayne) Jasper, Manitowoc; Scott (Jodi) Kohlmeier, Manitowoc; Todd (Kay) Kohlmeier, Francis Creek; Kraig (Carol) Kohlmeier, Manitowoc; and Paula Kohlmeier, Mishicot; eight grandchildren: Shawn (Erika) Kohlmeier, Heather (Brian) Duerst, Jeremy Kohlmeier and his special friend, Samantha Christiansen, Ryan Jasper and his special friend, Sarah Benett, Mason Kohlmeier and his fiancée Maria Sorensen, Danyelle Kohlmeier and her special friend, Tyler Schmidt, Nicholas Jasper, and Karlie Lynn Kohlmeier and her special friend, Paul Habermann; three sisters: Vicki Berres, Marinette; Marlene Boyajian, Chicago, IL; and Sharon (Gene) Morrow, Manitowoc; two brothers-in-law: Russell Shambeau and Glen (Bev) Shambeau, both of Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law: Ruth (Wally) Guetchow, Waukegan, IL, and Audrey Shambeau, Two Rivers; a special family friend, Eileen Kennedy, Mishicot; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Esther Kohlmeier; one brother: Glen Kohlmeier; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Helma and Walter Shambeau; one sister-in-law: Catherine Shambeau; and two brothers-in-law: James Boyajian and Paul's fishing partner, Allan Shambeau.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, June 8, 2012 from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. The visitation will continue on Saturday at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Paul Schossow and Rev. Nicholas Maglietto will officiate with entombment to follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory, N. 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Emergency Room staff of Aurora Medical Center in Two Rivers, Flight For Life, and also to the ICU unit staff of Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials in Paul's name to Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.
